100 years since the "exchange of Greek and Turkish populations," the discussion regarding the causes that led to it, the terms of its execution, and the fate of millions of people has once again become relevant.

The improved edition of the collective volume responds to the revival of this discussion, and indeed at an international level. The aim of the book is to enrich the one-sided view of the phenomena in their historical context and the circumstances, that is to challenge and dismantle the one-dimensional and unmovable Greek or Turkish ethnocentric perspectives.

The authors shed light on aspects of the exchange that concern states, law, and politics, but above all the people who found themselves in the maelstrom of political and military circumstances and ended up victims of national conflicts.
