Description

Since the fall of 2024, with Donald Trump's re-election as President of the United States, it became apparent that 2025 would bring significant changes to the world, in addition to the accumulated woes of the two wars, in Ukraine and the Middle East.

Indeed, sensational geopolitical developments were expected (changes), with Trump taking office in 2025. The planet was surprised, on one hand by his aggressive rhetoric, even towards US allies, and on the other hand by his swift actions, which could have turned the US into an expansionist giant, embracing broader Protectionism and Revisionism under the slogan Make America Great Again.

The response to the China threat officially emerged as America's primary priority. Simultaneously, Russia began to appear as a potential US partner, and Ukraine as a nuisance that needed to cease existing, at any cost, at Ukraine's expense.

In the same spirit as Trump, Israel also moved, which, with a Westward wind (mainly American), distanced itself from the immediate Iranian nuclear threat. Regarding the European Union, it was essentially the biggest loser, as it was left to support Ukraine alone, at a huge economic cost, while its economy, exhausted energy-wise due to the front it recklessly opened against Russia, was additionally called to face, on one side, Trump's order for a massive increase in its defense spending, and on the other side, US tariff measures that mainly affected Germany's automotive industry but also broader European countries that produce steel, aluminum, food, beverages, etc.

The poorer countries of Europe are estimated to suffer further economic (and not only) losses, while the international impact will hit even harder the extremely impoverished Africa, whose workforce will seek refuge in Europe more intensely.
