Description

A significant and highly confidential letter must be delivered into the hands of a powerful yet dark cardinal in the Vatican. This sets Berdougo on new adventures. The Inquisitor assigns him to travel to Rome and reach the depths of the papal court to deliver the letter.

It is a long journey, full of dangers and unexpected events at every step. Will Berdougo, with only his wit and his donkey Bouros as his companion, manage to complete the mission? What will he encounter on his way, and what surprises await him?

Through the visually stunning pages of this album, we are transported to Rome of the early Renaissance. We walk with Berdougo through the cobbled streets of the eternal city and meet faces that historically remind us of something. And all this with Arkas' sharp humor and his direct satire on the oppressive and corrupt regime of the Borgia era.

Review this product

  • Was it easy to read?
  • I would read a book by the same author
  • I would recommend it for reading
  • Was it interesting enough?
  • I liked the writing style
  • Someone is making a huge effort to keep the ratings of this series at high levels... repeated, identical reviews from different people (or the same ones?), about the paper quality, the quality of the humor, etc. etc.
Should I be concerned about what I am about to read??? (I have bought and am waiting for the books)

Edit 6/9/25: I have read all the books in the series. Disappointing writing, jokes below average, pointless rambling, as if they were written by someone else and not by Arkas. No relation to his old series. And I have read them all. I would not recommend buying this particular series.

  • Murderous humor, perfect design, and an Arkas from the good old days, tough, hilarious, sarcastic to the bone. Perfect!

  • After years, the good with spicy black humor Arkas returns. No relation to the last mediocre albums. Reminiscent of the prisoner era.
