Description

This book is more and less than an anthology. More, because it contains texts that would not satisfy the definition of an anthology; less, because these 'extra-anthological' texts undermine the anthology character of the book.

I call this volume a selection because I attempted to combine the anthology aspect with the historical element: on one hand, to identify what, in my opinion (that is, according to my current criteria), are the most significant critical texts related to Anagnostakis' work; and on the other hand, to pinpoint the texts that we could say reflect the broader reception of this work at specific points in its trajectory.

The last text ('Reading Anagnostakis Again') was initially written as an introduction to this 'selection'. However, since its publication, for technical reasons, was significantly delayed and the text was published in the meantime, I ultimately decided to include it in the body of the book as a product of studying the texts that comprise it.

The texts are re-published here in chronological order of the works, thus essentially chronologically. The spelling form and the tonal system of their authors are preserved.
