For Greece, the first quarter of the 21st century was marked by its entry into the euro and the euphoria of the Athens Olympic Games, the insecurity of the economic crisis, and brain drain, as well as an emphasis on performance and gender identities. The first decades of the current century were particularly dynamic and disruptive, as digital technologies took hold and image and social networking dominated, resulting in significant shifts in writing, reading, and communication.

The aim of this book is to map the trends and developments in modern Greek literature in relation to international literary and theoretical inquiries, as well as the new publishing and digital landscape, with contributions from specialists in various fields (literature, criticism, theory, journalism, social networking, academic and publishing sectors). The texts in this volume operate on various levels: the biopolitical (feminism, queer, crisis, post-politics, borders, and migration), the communicative/educational (creative writing courses, social networking), the institutional (book policy, international visibility), and the technological/philosophical (artificial intelligence), seeking an interdisciplinary and multifaceted dialogue in which different generations share their views and experiences.
