This two-volume edition, dedicated to the memory of Charalampos Bouras, Emeritus Professor of Architectural History at the National Technical University of Athens, titled "HEROES OF THE BUILDER. Studies on the historical monuments of Greece," is a collection of one hundred and twelve original scientific articles and presentations, covering a thematic range that includes ancient Greek architecture and its history, Byzantine and post-Byzantine architecture, as well as modern architecture, up to the history and theory of restorations.

The editors of the publication are Manolis Korres, Stavros Mamaloukos, Kostas Zampas, and Fani Mallouhou-Tufano. The scientific committee also included Vasileios Lamprinoudakis, †S. Ćurčić, and Miltiadis Polyviou. The authors, 100 Greeks and 20 foreigners, are well-known and esteemed scientists or younger researchers with high achievements, mostly archaeologists and architects or other engineers with research or restoration projects.

The articles have an average length of 4,000 words, and most are illustrated with, on average, 10 drawings and photographs. Most articles are in Greek, with the others in English, French, German, and Italian, accompanied by an abstract.

The collection "HEROES OF THE BUILDER" represents a valuable contribution to the scientific fields of historical monuments and historical topography of Greece.
