In recent years, after a long period of silence and somewhat unexpectedly, interest in the critical and poetic work of Kostis Palamas, the man who held a privileged position in the hierarchy of Greek poets for over thirty years, has begun to rekindle. As a result, there is now a significant increase in the evidence that reveals this renewed interest. Among these pieces of evidence are the texts included in this volume: texts that shed light on unknown aspects of Palamas' work or thoroughly examine his most well-known ideas and aesthetic values. However, what is important is that they attempt to describe and evaluate Palamas' relationship with Cyprus and the way in which the island functioned in the poet's consciousness.
