The compilation and publication of honorary volumes, featuring studies from students, colleagues, and friends of the honoree, is an old academic tradition. We began the effort to compile and publish an honorary volume for Emeritus Professor of Folklore Mr. Mina Al. Alexiadis in early 2016. The response to our initial call was enthusiastic, reflecting the impact of the honored professor in the folkloric and scientific fields, both in Greece and abroad. Many reached out to us, expressing their desire to contribute with their studies. This is a testament to the expertise and kindness of the honored individual, who has always been approachable and friendly, leaving the door open for assistance he could provide.

Details regarding his life and work are presented below; it is worth noting, however, that Mina Al. Alexiadis is a beloved and respected figure among those who know him, which is reflected in the pages of this volume.
