The Voyage of Literary Theory attempts to map the position and dynamics of Literary Theory within the Greek academic space at the beginning of the 21st century.
Literary Theory systematically examines the nature of literary texts and the methods of their analysis, while also exploring the ways in which meaning is produced and human identities are formed through texts. It constitutes an interdisciplinary and multifaceted field of research in the humanities with extensions and applications in various areas such as education, communication, and the performing arts.
The present volume aims to introduce the reader to the fruitful wanderings of Theory, both within and beyond the boundaries of literature. The fifty studies in this honorary volume for Anna Jouma, Emeritus Professor of Literary Theory at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, reveal specific and new aspects of poetics, interpretation, and reception of literary texts through a wide range of critical concepts and approaches.
At the same time, they aspire to promote interdisciplinary dialogue with philosophy, cultural theory, linguistics, theater studies, architecture, dance theory, and legal science.
