Description

The edition titled Nani t` anthi ton antho. Ode to the Mother is inspired by the musician Thanasis Moraitis and includes a music CD and a luxury volume with literary texts and visual artworks.

Through this multifaceted and eclectic edition, different facets of motherhood and the vital mother-child relationship emerge. The three parts – musical, visual & literary – complement each other, capturing the dynamics of this relationship in human society.

The 16 new compositions aim to continue the thread – musically and lyrically – of traditional lullabies that have almost been forgotten due to the diverse social changes that occurred in post-war Greece.

The ambition of this edition is to once again motivate modern mothers, so that this 'caress', that is, the lullaby, can be passed on to newborns.

The 15 esteemed painters from the contemporary Greek visual arts scene, through captivating color and design details as well as identical behaviors, caress the natural loneliness of existence and create the conditions for the statue of the one who gives life to be 'erected': the Mother.

The writers and poets depict the form of the Mother in their own way. They consciously or unconsciously transform the gratitude or 'sweet hatred' of mortals toward her who 'gave meaning to their feet', into an unforgettable hymn. As she deserves.
