This book is a selection of the most significant critical texts, in the opinion of its editor, that have been written about the work of Odysseas Elytis, from his first emergence to the present day.

Through reading these texts, the reader has the opportunity to better follow the evolution of one of the most important Greek poets of our century and, at the same time, to study the reception of his work by Greek critics.

The extensive introductory study by Mario Vitti, which describes and comments on this journey, can also be read as a subsection of a history of modern Greek literary criticism.
